Before Your Appointment …

  • Please refrain from Botox or other filler treatments at least 4 weeks prior to your appointment, and at least 2 weeks after.

  • If you are sick please reschedule. If there is any sign of illness during your appointment, the appointment will be cancelled, and rescheduled.

  • Do not drink alcohol at least 24 hours before your appointment.

  • Please limit your intake of caffeine before your appointment.

  • Please refrain from any blood thinning medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil, and niacin at least one week prior to your appointment.

  • You must discontinue use of Retin-A or retinols and glycolic skin treatments for at least 14 days prior to your appointment, and must avoid using them on or near procedure area for at least 30 days after. (The longer, the better.) These may cause pigments to fade prematurely.

  • If you're getting an eyebrow procedure done, do not pluck or wax your eyebrows at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. This opens up your pores and may cause tattoo pigment to seep into skin where it is not intended.

  • You may wear your usual eyebrow makeup to your appointment if you wish so that I can take your preferred shape into consideration.

  • It is highly recommended that you avoid tanning (in the sun or tanning beds) at least 3 weeks before your procedure and at least 30 days after. If you arrive with sunburn please be prepared to reschedule. This is because exfoliation from sunburn will take tattoo pigment away right along with it.

  • If you have any active skin conditions such as acne, rashes, eczema, psoriasis, or wounds in the area to be tattooed, please notify me prior to your appointment and be prepared to reschedule.

After Your Procedure…

  • Specific aftercare recommendations and guidelines will be given following your procedure according to what procedure was done. Please note that everyone's skin responds differently to cosmetic tattooing. The way you will heal and how long it will take to heal will vary from person to person.

  • Your new permanent makeup will appear dark immediately after your procedure compared to healed results. 20-40% fading and softening of color, strokes, and shape are completely normal and expected.

  • You may see some redness or swelling in the tattooed area following your procedure, but it should subside after the first day.

  • You will see some darkening of the tattooed area, and then it will lighten before finally settling in to the healed result. This may take between 7-14 days. For many people, color and strokes will disappear in some areas before returning. This is all part of the process while the skin regenerates as it heals.

  • The healing process can take between 7-14 days, varying from person to person.

  • You may shower normally, but avoid letting water soak your new brows. Clean your tattooed area according to your aftercare instructions. During the first two weeks avoid heavily scented cleansers and exfoliating cleansers on the area.

  • Flaking, peeling, and possible mild itching are normal during the healing phase. DO NOT pick or scratch. Allow skin to naturally exfoliate.

  • Avoid extreme heat, strenuous exercise, excessive sweating or raising blood pressure for at least 4 days.

  • Avoid direct sun on your procedure area and tanning salons for at least 2 weeks.

  • Avoid hot tubs and saunas, and swimming in salt water, chlorinated pools, rivers, lakes, ponds, etc. until your new tattoo is completely healed (at least 2 weeks).

  • To preserve color, avoid using products that contain peroxide, alcohol, glycolic acid, or rapid exfoliants (i.e. alpha hydroxy and retinols such as Retin A) on the treated area, even after it has healed.

  • No cosmetics on the tattooed area for at least 10-14 days. When it is completely done flaking and peeling is a good indicator that makeup is ok.

  • Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching the tattooed area or applying healing ointments.

  • Avoid laser or chemical treatments/peels in general near your new brows. They will cause premature loss of color.

  • Always wear sunblock once eyebrows are fully healed.
